Jim Cox Reports Index

Jim Cox is a life-long bibliophile who began reading books around age 5 and never stopped. Before becoming a book reviewer in 1976, he spent 21 years in various forms of social work: Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (7 years), County Social Worker (7 years), School District Developmental Disabilities Counselor/Administrator.

How he became a book reviewer (and eventually the Editor-in-Chief of the Midwest Book Review) is a story within itself and involved doing a local weekly radio show called "Bookwatch" for 4 years, then a weekly 30 minutes local television show (also called "Bookwatch") for another couple of decades, and finally directing an online book review organization that produces 9 monthly book review publications for librarians, booksellers, dedicated bibliophiles, and the general public.

The "Jim Cox Reports" are collections of opinions, advice, open letters, and answers to individual questions, written by the Midwest Book Review's Editor-in-Chief Jim Cox. New Jim Cox Reports will be posted monthly. If you want to be on a mailing list to receive new Jim Cox Reports by e-mail, then please send us an e-mail at mwbookrevw@aol.com with your request, and we'll sign you up right away.
