White Plains, NY 10601
9781621450054 $19.99

Enhanced with the occasional color diagram or illustration, Don't Screw It Up! Avoid 434 Goofs to Save Time, Money, and Face is a humorously written yet eminently practical compendium of tips, tricks, and techniques to deal with an immense variety of everyday situations. Topics covered range from how to effectively use sunscreen, to protecting oneself from computer viruses, preventing after-party hangovers, slicing bagels without injuring one's fingers, and even how to avoid being overcharged at a hospital! "When you are admitted into the hospital, tell a staff member that you want an itemized bill brought to you each day. Hospitals are required to do this if you ask." Only a few pages highlighting the most common errors and problems are devoted to each issue, but Don't Screw It Up! is overall an excellent resource to begin preparing oneself for the foibles of daily life. Even a modern-day Renaissance man is unlikely to be familiar with every piece of cautionary advice offered, making Don't Screw It Up! an excellent giftbook for good-humored friends - or for high school graduates striking out on their own for the first time!

A type of traditional hermeneutic is biblical hermeneutics which concerns the study of the interpretation of the Bible. In religious studies and social philosophy, hermeneutics is the study of the theory and practice of interpretation. The terms exegesis and hermeneutics have been used interchangeably. The figment was here./She told a story of a woman eaten by dogs --/her neighbor's--not even wild dogs./It did not make me afraid of being killed. Instead/I aimed a pistol at the dogs/and it was the pistol in my hand that was so cold,/which is why she left,/which is how I came awake.

Think of earthly/providence, how it takes in, holds close,/serves up its host of grimy truths.
