Oppressive Light is a bilingual anthology of brief, free-verse poetry, originally composed in
German by the early twentieth century poet Robert Walser and skillfully translated into English
by Daniele Pantano. Although possessed of incredible talent, he led a hard life marked by

varying phases of his life, but they all resonate with emotional power and pathos. Oppressive
