1403356262 $13.95 1-800-839-8640
Now in a revised second edition, Lisa Ann Bargeman's The Egyptian Origin Of Christianity offers
an
informative, iconoclastic analytical survey of those non-Biblical contributions to the concepts and
ecumenical development of Christianity drawn from the Egyptian religious myths and rituals of
antiquity. The juxtaposing of texts from the Bible and from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the
comparison of similarities between the story of Osiris and the story of Jesus, the observations of
cosmology, physical symbolism, and tradition, are all revealed in startling and unexpected ways
that
will give serious students of both Egyptian and Christian metaphysics a great deal of food for
thought and reflection. Lisa Bargeman adheres to a very high standard of scholarship both in her
presentation and in her interpretative commentary. The Egyptian Origin Of Christianity is a
welcome
and much appreciated contribution to Metaphysical Studies.

ten minutes later/the refrigerator/stopped feeling cold//at midnight this year/I'm upstairs
reading/while you work downstairs//an hour later/when you come to bed/I'm here at the
computer/playing solitaire//before I join you/I'll have played out/twice.
The Soul's Refinement

0967542987 $19.95 www.amazon.com

expressively survey of matters and ideals ranging from tribal sexual customs to polygamy, from

recommended, The Soul's Refinement offers the kind of enduring poetic achievement that
deserves
to be read again and again -- and with each reading and re-reading, new contemplative
observations
and responses will emerge within the mind of the reader. "Let us learn from each other, what is
good/Accept, and what is bad disown--for all/Remain together linked in brotherhood/Of human
souls, though some dispute withal/The common bond by which we are united,/And promulgate
instead old tired creeds/New-dressed of greed, by which the soul is spited/Pursing not their
altruistic
needs,/Wants or desires -- for every brother; sister/In this great human family, has right/To a fair
portion, even the resister,/Of God's great grace which shines forth like a light./Only those, Lord,
who turn away from Thee/And from thy splendor, need in darkness be.

A Broken Reed
Ron Miller
Mayhaven Publishing
PO Box 557, Mahomet, IL 61853
1878044907 $17.95
Life in the rural American south during the middle decades of the twentieth century was very hard
for most people -- including a fourteen year old boy who found himself caught up in a web of
intrigue, mystery, and murder. A Broken Reed makes the southern experience of living in a small
town in the late 1950s come alive both with a meticulous attention to background detail, a variety
of
memorable charecters, an unfailing ear for regional dialect, and most of all, for a complex and
unpredictable storyline. Clearly documenting Ron Miller as an extraordinary and original novelist,
the only complaint is the exceptionally small type font making the text difficult to scan for anyone
without excellent vision. It would have been better to make this 376-page volume expand into a
450+ page length with a larger and more "reader friendly" font size.

Sonny Saunders is looking forward to his soon-to-be 21st birthday and eligibility to enjoy his
inheritance. The problem is "the black lady" -- an old-fashion china doll. Sonny feels that when
that
doll leaves the mantle where she's displayed and can be heard walking through the house at night
that very bad things happen like murder will happen. When Marina Hays agrees to spend the
weekend at her friends' country house she encounters Bruce Collyer, a handsome man who
announces to the other guests that he plans to marry Marina -- even though he can't seem to
remember her name being occupied with the making of household repairs! It's when a murder
mars
the weekend (and seems to give credence to Sonny's superstition about the china doll and
disaster)
that Marina employs her wit and powers of observation to help the police figure out just "who
done
it". The collaborative effort of the sisters Constance and Gwenyth Little, The Black Rustle was
originally published in 1942. This now 60 year old novel holds up exceptionally well and can be
confidently recommended to enthusiasts of the Murder/Suspense genre as a superb example of an
entertainingly comic mystery with it's brightly drawn cast of eccentric characterizations and
fair-to-the-reader clue laden plot.
