Toni Dockter's Percy & The Plod is a novel written for a young adult readership, but which is nonetheless highly enjoyable for readers of all ages. The farming town of Yoosa faces a dreadful problem - the sun is drifting away. Only one person is brave enough to volunteer to climb a mountain and rope the sun back in, and that's young Percy. Percy isn't particularly strong, or brave, or bright, but he has the determination to plod on and get the job done in this rewarding, entertaining, and most encouraging story about the merit of steadily pursuing ones goals. Percy & The Plod is a recommended addition to school and community library YA collections.
