Font's newly discovered field journal has been added to this excellent, updated edition of a classic primary historical source - a number of details and insights in this journal were excluded in the later two "official" versions that Font prepared after the expedition was concluded. Maps and relief profiles drawn by Font, as well as new maps prepared by modern-day translator and editor Alan K. Brown, enhance this invaluable addition to California history shelves. Highly recommended, especially for college library collections.
